Here are 10 reasons to visit Thailand on your next vacation.

1. Thailand has amazing beaches

The beaches of Thailand are world famous and some of them have been featured in movies such as The James Bond series and in Leonardo Dicaprio’s “The Beach”.

The main resort city is Phuket however there are many quieter towns spotted around the country. Noteable mentions include Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Samui.

2. The Diving is World Class

The most famous spots include the Andaman Islands and the Similian Islands which are world famous for diving. Both offer liveaboard options and are only available for diving in certain seasons to ensure safety. There is also great diving and snorkelling around the closer to mainland islands such as Koh Tao and Koh Samui.

3. Nature is Not Too Far Away

Koh Sok National Park is one of the lesser known tourist spots in Thailand. While you may have to rough it a bit out here you will have access to great hikes, serene lake views and peace and quiet away from the main cities.

4. Meals are much cheaper than home

With street food available from a dollar for the brave and restaurant meals beginning at USD7.00 you’ll enjoy eating out every night on a trip to Thailand. While western food is available eating local will add to the experience of visiting such an exotic country.

5. Luxury Resorts Are Very Affordable

Because Thailand is a cheaper location you’ll find the same standard of hotels here are a lot more affordable than hotels in the western world. Take advantage of this and either save some money or use it as an opportunity to stay somewhere really nice.

6. There are elephants

While there are ethical concerns about riding elephants in Thailand there are many nature parks and rehabilitation centres to choose from for those looking to interact with the gentle giants.

7. Massages are cheap and abundant

Thai massages are world famous and even better, they are extremely cheap in Thailand so you will even be able to end each day with one. There are simple massages as well as complex and intricate spa packages available in Thailand.

8. There are magnificent temples everywhere

Thailand is home to magnificent temples and interesting architecture. Some are surreal, some humbling and others look like something out of a cartoon show. There are so many temples that you couldn’t possibly see them all in one short trip so do some research ahead to plan for your favourites.

9. See the fascinating culture of the hill tribes

The women of the hill tribe believe longer necks are beautiful hence the trend of the gold rings around the necks of many of the tribeswomen. A great thing about visiting other country is the opportunity to see how other cultures work and what they value.

It’s a tropical fruits heaven all year long. Name it: mango, snakefruit (salak), dragon fruit (pitaya), rambutan, fresh coconut…the list can go on and on. And the price is extremely cheap. We love going to Thailand.
