1. Lord of the Rings Scenic Flight

Whether you are a fan of the movies or not you won’t want to miss this amazing three and a half hour flight over some of the most beautiful scenery New Zealand has on offer.

The flight plan takes in an incredible thirteen locations including Milford Sounds, the Jura Glacier, Sutherland Falls, Pluto Peak and Queenstown (where it starts and finishes). There are numerous landings however the amount of which depends on the weather during the flight.

The flight is run by a company called Heli Works and the price rests at NZD1835 per person with a minimum of two people in each flight. There are shorter flights on offer that last for between 45 and 75 minutes for those who would prefer a shorter experience.



2. Heli Ski in Style

Heli skiing is not for the faint hearted. If you’re an experienced skier and haven’t had the chance to heli ski yet then here in New Zealand is the perfect opportunity for you to try it out.

Queenstown Adventures offer luxury packages during ski week with almost unlimited heli skiing. In case you’re wondering ski week is similar to the famous yacht week, but with skiing. The package would be perfect for double dating couples or groups of friends looking for a quick getaway between June to September.

For $8,500 per person you’ll spend two nights at a Hilton Hotel and five nights on a very cool luxury yacht. Four days of unlimited heli skiing are included as well as daily breakfast and dinner cooked by your private chef, certain ski equipment and transfers.

3. The MillBrook Spa

The MillBrook Spa is one of Queenstown’s best relaxation centers.

Beautifully set amongst mountain views the spa offers guests an relaxing array of day spa features as well as a hair salon, and health and fitness facilities. While not the most active experience in Queenstown a day pampering yourself at MillBrook would be perfectly timed after a day (or week) of adrenaline on the island.

4.  Onsen Hotpools

The Onsen hot pools are a private Jacuzzi facility in the Shotover River Canyon for couples or up to groups of four. With each pool set to look out over the tranquil mountain setting you’ll undoubtedly find yourself in deep relaxation mode while here.

Each spa has a retractable windows so even when snowing you can still enjoy the views outside while staying warm in your suite.

5. The Hills Golf Course


The Hills Golf Course is one of the best golf courses in New Zealand and with good reason.

With views like these even non golfers wont mind tagging along for the day.

    I heard a lot about New Zealand great nature. It’s on my bucket list. I can’t wait to try onsen in a different place than Japan especially when it has retractable window facing beautiful nature.
